Temporary changes of Vector equipment
Our overhead network lines might be in your way sometimes if you want to move tall machinery or structures to a work site. You can request a temporary disconnection or relocation of these lines or a line drop from us.
This request might require for us to temporarily shut down power for one or more of our customers. We have required notification periods for these planned outages, so you need to request this at least 20 working days in advance.

Our process
The process, costs and timeframes may vary dependent on:
- The requirement of a power shut down for customers
- The voltage level of the overhead lines
- The type of work required e.g. line drop, temporary disconnection or relocation of lines
If you require a line drop of your own personal service line, you need to request a temporary disconnection here.
Application | Submit your application by calling us on 0508 832 867 at least 20 working days before you require the work done
Review & Costs | We'll review your application and contact you if further information is required. We'll design the job after visiting the job site to see what site works are required. For line drops, line relocations and some disconnections we will issue a quote that must be paid before we do the works.
Scheduling | We'll schedule the work with you. If we need to, we'll schedule a planned outage for impacted customers and notify them within our required notice period.
Timeframes | We relocate or drop the overhead lines or disconnect them at the scheduled times agreed with you. |
Before you apply
You will need to provide the following information when you apply:
- The location where you need to relocate, drop or disconnect Vector's overhead lines
- The required duration of the relocation or disconnection
