Vector Lights is a spectacular, solar-powered light display on Auckland’s iconic Harbour Bridge, celebrating iconic events, festivals and days of significance. It’s more than just a show - it's a celebration of our city, our stories, and our journey toward a smarter energy future.
Powered by advanced clean energy technology, we light the bridge responsibly, showcasing a smart energy solution in action.
- Solar panels capture energy during the day
- Tesla Powerpack battery stores that energy for use at night
- Smart meters on the bridge and battery communicate every 10 seconds
- Peer-to-peer tech ensures only the exact amount of energy needed is released—no more, no less

VECTOR LIGHTS FOR DIWALI 2026
24 October – 2 November , 8pm to midnight
Shubh Diwali! Vector Lights is celebrating our multicultural region, Tāmaki Makaurau with a dazzling light and sound show for the BNZ Auckland Diwali Festival.
The spectacular week-long display on the Auckland Harbour Bridge will showcase artistic rangoli-inspired designs accompanied by a special soundtrack, ‘Happy Diwali’ by Dharmesh. Gather friends and whānau to enjoy the Festival of Lights shining over the Waitematā Harbour.

We also offer the chance for special lighting to mark meaningful occasions. If you’re part of a community cause, a not-for-profit, or have a significant event to celebrate, you’re welcome to apply for a special Vector Lights activation for a cause or occasion that’s important to you.
