Vector Lights is a spectacular, solar-powered light display on Auckland’s iconic Harbour Bridge, celebrating iconic events, festivals and days of significance. It’s more than just a show - it's a celebration of our city, our stories, and our journey toward a smarter energy future.
Powered by advanced clean energy technology, we light the bridge responsibly, showcasing a smart energy solution in action.

- Smart meters on the bridge and battery communicate every 10 seconds

Our Auckland / Matariki Festival / TAU Matariki Taimoana
Vector Lights is honouring Matariki with a dedicated light and sound show created by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. The show tells the story of Matariki rising over Te Kahu Tōpuni o Tuperiri Central Auckland. It represents Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei as ahi kā and symbolises the lighting of the ceremonial fires of Matariki and over Tāmaki.
The dazzling light and sound show will play every night, 4-19 July from 6pm until midnight, every 15 minutes.
Some of your favourite viewing locations include Little Shoal Bay, Westhaven Marina and Maungawhau Mt Eden. You can also listen to the soundtrack live on the Vector website.
Be at Silo Park on Saturday 4 July, 4-8pm as the iconic Vector Lights on the Auckland Harbour Bridge illuminate for Matariki Festival 2026. Enjoy an evening of music, storytelling and family friendly activities, all set against the waterfront at Matariki Taimoana.
