For undergrounding and relocation work you will pay an assessment fee to recover the cost we incur when preparing a detailed quote. For more complex changes you will pay a design fee to recover the costs we incur when preparing a detailed design. The design fee costs may vary depending on the scope of works.

Our process


The process, costs and timeframes may vary depending on:

  • The number and type of equipment requiring relocation, removal or undergrounding
  • Whether an easement is required to allow gas and electricity equipment owned by Vector to be installed and to remain on private property. An easement provides us with ongoing access and maintenance rights in respect of that equipment. 

Once we have assessed your request, it can follow a simple or complex process.


Simple Process

Initiate

Design

We'll review your application and contact you if further information is required. Pay the assessment fee online within 30 calendar days.

Quote and payment

You'll usually be supplied with a quote including terms and conditions within 7 working days.  Pay the quote online with a credit card or through a bank transfer within 35 working days before the quote expires .

Build and variations

The work is generally completed within 40 working days after payment has been received.

Completion

We let you know when the work is completed


Complex Process

Initiate

Call 0508 832 867 to apply. You’ll usually receive an indicative quote within 10 working days

Design

You'll need to pay for the design cost for the job to proceed. We'll usually  advise you within 1 week as to when the design will be completed.

Contract and payment

Once we’ve received design approval, we'll usually send a customer agreement with terms and conditions within 5 working days that is valid for 45 days . We'll then contact you to schedule the work once the agreement has been signed and payment received.

Build

Work will usually begin approximately 6 weeks after receipt of payment.

Completion

We finish the work
