Capacity request
You can request a capacity check to verify what phase and fuse size a property has, or to see if there is spare capacity for another connection. You can also ask for a load check at a transformer to see whether it has spare capacity for a new connection or upgrade.

How much capacity we require for your home:
During normal energy use, the power supplied by your meter (9.2 kVA on average) should suffice. In theory, this allows you to simultaneously supply devices with a maximum power of 9.2 kW or 9200 watts. As you do not usually use all your electrical appliances at once, your basic installation should, in practice, suffice.
If you have special installations that consume a lot of energy, such as a sauna, pottery kiln or electric car, then that power might not be sufficient, and you may have to request an electricity upgrade with Vector.
