Operational performance highlights:

· 642,134 total electricity network connections, up 1.6% on June 2025
· 13,017 new electricity network connections, up 3.7% on June 2025
· 8,794 GWh electricity volume distributed in the year, up 1.9% on June 2025 comparative period.


Commentary:

The year ended 30 June 2026 has seen network connection numbers continue to grow across Vector’s Auckland electricity network. In the year to 30 June 2026, total electricity connection numbers grew by 1.6%. New connections for the year ended 30 June 2026 are 3.7% higher than in previous year. Electricity distributed volume was up 1.9% compared with the year ended 30 June 2025, with residential volumes up 1.6% and business volumes up 2.0%. Cooler winter temperatures, particularly in August 2025, saw more electricity used for heating.


There has been a 0.5% decrease in total connections on Auckland’s gas distribution network over the year to 30 June 2026. New gas connections were down 45.2% on the prior year. There was a net reduction of 630 customers in the year ended 30 June 2026. Gas distribution volume for the year to 30 June 2026 was down 1.7% compared with the prior year, due to lower demand from the residential, industrial and commercial sectors.


SAIDI minutes for normal operations (planned) for the three months ended 30 June 2026 is higher than the prior comparative period however still within the regulatory threshold. SAIDI minutes for normal operations (unplanned) for the three months ended 30 June 2026 is lower than the prior comparative period. There have been no Major Network Events during the period, while the prior comparative period included the impact of one Major Network Event when the Auckland region was affected by Cyclone Tam.
