Vector Lights for Anzac Day 2024

Vector Lights for Anzac Day will remember the servicemen and servicewomen, past and present, who have displayed courage and self-sacrifice serving our country. The dazzling and dynamic light show commemorates both Poppy Day (19 April) and Anzac Day (25 April). The show plays every 15 minutes from 6:00pm until midnight, and 5am to 7am on 25 April.

A SYMBOL OF CHANGE AND A ROAD TO GROWTH

A harbour crossing was first proposed in 1860, however cost was prohibitive at that time. Construction on the bridge finally began in 1954 and took several years to complete. Until the bridge’s opening in 1959, the fastest way to get from the north shore to Auckland was by ferry; by car it was a 50km drive.
