Vector is carrying out an undergrounding project on Yarborough Street that will see the overhead electricity lines disappear. New streetlights will also be installed.
Project timing: 20 October 2009 – December 2009
To minimise disruption to residents work will be carried out in sections within the project block and should only directly affect any one property for a short amounts of this time.
Work details:
All overhead wires will be removed and undergrounded. Power poles will also be removed and new streetlights will be installed.
The work will be carried out predominantly using trenchless methods, but in some places we may need to dig trenches. In the unlikely event that these will affect any driveways, we will consult with affected customers before we begin work and will ensure that access to these driveways is maintained while the works are underway. Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Streets to benefit from the project:
Yarborough Street, Selby Square. Full traffic and pedestrian management plans are in place to minimise disruption.
The worksites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works. We have notified the local schools and are liaising with the walking school bus.
We apologise for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
