Project File

Vector is undertaking an undergrounding project at Sarsfield Street, Herne Bay. We are coordinating works with Telecom, and the overhead power and telephone lines will be replaced with underground cables at the same time. Auckland Transport will also be installing new streetlights as part of this project.

Streets affected by this work include: Sarsfield St, Herne Bay, between Shelley Beach Rd and Curran St

Project timing: 7 March to 6 May 2011

The project work will be carried out in sections throughout the area and should only directly affect the road frontage outside each property for a small amount of this time.

Project details:

All customer power and phone lines within the area of works that are a single span will be undergrounded. We will also underground power lines down shared driveways for the first span.

The power supply in the area should not be affected by the work, except for when the change over from overhead to underground service to a property is required. A short power outage will be needed for each property to complete this process. Customers will be consulted with in advance.

To ensure a safe and smooth flow of traffic, full traffic management plans are in place for the area. The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works. In most cases, the directional flow of both traffic lanes will be maintained.

We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
