Vector is undertaking a power uprate project in the Pt Chevalier area to ensure our customers continue to receive a secure power supply.
Streets affected by this work include: Western Springs Road, Central Road, Cooper Street, Grosvenor Street, Williamson Avenue, Hepburn Street, College Hill to Shelly Beach Road.
Additional works are being undertaken to replace electrical assets in the following streets; Montrose Street, Morningside Drive, Western Springs Road, Crummer Ropad, Jervois Road, Ponsonby Road, Shelly Beach Road, Millais Street, Rose Road, Williamson Avenue, Anglesea Street, Wellington Road
Project timing: January 2011 – June 2011
The project work will be carried out in sections throughout the area and should only directly affect the road frontage outside each property for a small amount of this time.
Project details:
The project involves replacement of electrical underground cables and other assets such as distribution transformers and electrical switching.
The work will be carried out predominantly using trenchless methods, but in some places we may need to dig trenches. In the unlikely event that these will affect any driveways, we will consult with affected customers before we begin work and will ensure that access to their driveway is maintained while the works are underway.
To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the duration of the project. In most cases, the directional flow of both traffic lanes will be maintained. The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works.
The power supply in the area may be affected by the work. In the event that a planned power outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance of this occurring.
We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
