Project File

Vector is undertaking a cable replacement project to reinforce the power supply in Nelson Street and Cook Street area to ensure our customers continue to receive a secure power supply.

Project timing:mid January to the end of February 2011

Hours of work: Monday to Sunday, 7am to 7pm

Streets affected by this work:Nelson Street, Cook Street

The project work will be carried out in sections throughout the area and should only directly affect the road frontage outside each property for a small amount of this time.

Project details:

This work will be undertaken by open trenching but we will reduce disruption as much as possible by keeping construction works contained and using small focused work areas.

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the duration of the project. The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works.

Access to car parks and buildings will be maintained, however traffic will be slowed around the work sites and some delays can be expected. Roadside parking will be affected.

The power supply in the area should not be affected by work. In the unlikely event that a planned power outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance of this occurring.

We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
