Vector is installing an underground cable along Kyle Road to reinforce the security and reliability of the electricity supply electricity in the area.
Streets affected by this work include: Kyle Road, Miromiro Street, Pitoitoi Avenue
Project timing: 5 May – late July 2010
How will the work be carried out?
The work will be carried out predominantly using trenchless methods, but in some places we may need to dig trenches.
Hours of work
Our crews will be working Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm, but may alter these hours to take into consideration the students of the adjacent primary school.
Will the work affect my driveway?
In the unlikely event that these will affect any driveways, we will consult with affected customers before we begin work and will ensure that access is maintained while the works are underway.
Will the power supply be affected?
The power supply in the area should not be affected by work. In the unlikely event that a planned power outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance of this occurring.
Traffic and pedestrian management
To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the duration of the project. In most cases, the directional flow of both traffic lanes will be maintained.
The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works.
Every effort will be made to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum. We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.

Hi Lee, unfortunately we have no plans to carry out undergrounding work in your area. Greenhithe falls outside the AECT area (www.aect.co.nz) for our undergrounding programme (which is Auckland City, Manukau City and parts of Papakura District) and we generally do not carry out any undergrounding outside of this programme.

Can you please advise if
Can you please advise if there is an intention to underground the cables that run across Kyle Road and between Maryann Place and Te Wharau Road, Greenhithe? These run past the back of my house and I would love for them to dissapear! Regards, Lee Greenslade
