It has been identified that a substation is required in Hillsborough. The proposed substation, which will be located at 105 Hillsborough Road, will help improve the reliability and quality of the electricity supply and provide additional capacity in the area to support future growth.
Vector owns this property and has designation on the site to build a substation. Construction is expected to take four months to complete.
Project timing: 22 February 2010 - 1 October 2010
Work details
The main building construction will require a number of heavy machinery to be operating on the site. We apologise for the noise and disruption this may cause.
We will be making every effort to minimise the noise level, dust, impact on traffic and other construction affects.
Our work hours will generally be 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 1pm Saturday.
Installing new fences around the property
Part of our work involves the installation of new fences between neighbouring properties and the new substation site. We will contact affected property owners prior to doing this and will ensure that this activity causes the minimum disruption to them.
Will the power supply be affected?
The power supply in the area should not be affected by work. In the unlikely event that a planned power outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance of this occurring.
Traffic and pedestrian management
To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the duration of the project.
Thank you for your cooperation. Every effort will be made to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum. We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
As the site manager will be onsite at most times and can answer any questions you may have.
