Project File
We are carrying out work to reinforce our fibre network in the Greenlane West area.
Streets affected: Green Lane West, from the Manukau Rd intersection, to Great South Rd intersection.
Project timing: 10 May 2010 – August 2010
The work will be carried out in sections and should only directly affect the road frontage outside each property for a small amount of this time.
Hours of work: Our hours of work will generally be from Monday to Friday, 9am to 3.30pm
How can I get connected to this network?
If you are a business customer and you are located near our network go to
www.vectorfibre.co.nz for a list of business partners that you can contact to arrange a connection.
Unfortunately we can't connect residential properties yet, but if we are successful in our bid to the government Vector will be building a fibre network that will connect residences, businesses, education facilities etc. Find out more, and have your say, about the bid at www.vectorfibre.co.nz
Is this work related to the Government Broadband initiative?
This is not related to the Government initiative. Vector is reinforcing its fibre network through out the Auckland area for businesses.
How is the work being carried out?
Where possible the work will be carried out in the footpath/road using trenchless methods – like drilling and in some places we will need to dig trenches. In the event that these will affect any driveways, we will consult with affected customers before we begin work and will ensure that access to their driveway is maintained while the work is underway.
Traffic and pedestrian management
To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the duration of the project. In most cases, the directional flow of both traffic lanes will be maintained. The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works.
Every effort will be made to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum. We apologise for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation.
