Project File

Vector is undertaking an electricity cable upgrade project to reinforce the power supply in the Gills Road, Albany area to ensure our customers continue to receive a secure power supply.

Project timing: 9 February 2012 – 30 March 2012

Hours of work
The hours of work will generally be 7.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The project schedule allows for the fastest possible completion and minimum level of disruption under noise and safety restrictions for the type of work that is taking place.

How is the work carried out?
The work will be carried out predominantly using trenchless methods, but in some places we may need to dig trenches.

Streets affected by this work include: Gills Road

Will the power supply be affected?
No, the power supply in the area should not be affected by work. In the unlikely event that a planned power outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance of this occurring.

Will the work affect my driveway?
In the event that these will affect any driveways, we will consult with affected customers before we begin work and will ensure that access is maintained while the works are underway.

Traffic and pedestrian management
Full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the project work. The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works.

We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
