Project File

Vector is undertaking a cable replacement project to reinforce the power supply in Emily Place to ensure our customers continue to receive a secure power supply.

Streets affected by this work include: Emily Place, Eden Crescent and Princess Street.

Project timing: Mid February – late March 2010

The project work will be carried out in sections throughout the area and should only directly affect the road frontage outside each property for a small amount of this time.

Hours of work: Our hours of work will be Monday to Sunday 7:00am to 7.00pm.

We have consulted with Auckland City Council and our work hours are in line with council permitted work hours fro the area.

Project details:

Cable ducts will be installed in open trenches, we will then return later to install the electricity cables in the new ducts. Work will also be conducted in Eden Crescent for the installation of the new switch gear.

In the event the there will be any impact on an access way or driveway, we will consult with affected residents and businesses before we begin work. Access to car parks and buildings will be maintained, however traffic will be slowed around the work sites and some delays can be expected. Roadside parking will be affected.

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the duration of the project. In most cases, the directional flow of both traffic lanes will be maintained. The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works.

The power supply in the area should not be affected by work. In the unlikely event that a planned power outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance of this occurring.

We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
