Project File

Vector is undertaking an electricity cable upgrade project to reinforce the power supply in the Wynyard Quarter area, including supply to the new ASB building to ensure our customers continue to receive a secure power supply.

Project timing: 9 March 2012 – 30 May 2012

What work is being carried out?
We are installing new underground cables and pipes along Beaumont Street, between our substation in the Air New Zealand building and the existing duct in Jellicoe Street. Cables will be laid along Jellicoe Street to the new ASB Building.

How is the work carried out?
Trenching will be used to install our underground cables and pipes with excavations required at certain locations for joint pits and checking the existing ducts.

Will the power supply be affected?
No, the power supply in the area should not be affected by work. In the unlikely event that a planned power outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance of this occurring.

Will the work affect my driveway?
In the event that these will affect any driveways, we will consult with affected customers before we begin work and will ensure that access is maintained while the works are underway.

Traffic and pedestrian management
Full traffic management plans have been developed and will be used throughout the project work. The work sites have been designed so that pedestrians will still be able to pass by the works.

We apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this project may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
