We are dedicated to the continuous improvement of our network's performance. Each year, we invest tens of millions of dollars on capital projects to upgrade assets, technology and information systems. Under our deed with our majority shareholder, the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust (AECT), we have also committed to spending $13.2 million a year on undergrounding.

Vector is constantly seeking to make the most of every dollar we spend on our network. For example, we are relocating more than 300 pole-mounted transformers to the ground making them easier to maintain and improving the aesthetic appeal of the streetscape. Since this 'undergrounding' project has started, more than 124km of power lines have disappeared and the look of streets all over Auckland has improved.
