Vector is working to restore power to parts of downtown Wellington affected by a power cut this afternoon. Vector apologises for any inconvenience this has caused Wellingtonians as they head home at the end of the day.
All field resources are fully dedicated to locating and repairing the cause of the faults that have impacted downtown Wellington over the last 24 hours.
Areas currently affected include parts of Victoria Street, Willis Street, Queens Wharf, Hunter Street, Customhouse Quay, Featherston Street, Gilmour street, and Grey Street. There is no estimated time for full restoration at this stage but field crews will work throughout the night if necessary.
The outage occurred during Vector’s ongoing investment and upgrade programme of its Wellington downtown electricity network. Vector is investigating any possible link between these outages and the upgrade programme.
Vector reminds any customers that require emergency support to contact 111.
Vector apologises for the disruption.
