Through its ongoing involvement with Vector Arena, Vector is bringing the Walking with Dinosaurs show to Auckland and is giving one lucky primary school class the chance to go behind the scenes of a Walking with Dinosaurs show.
The competition is being promoted alongside the introduction of Safe T. Rex – a new character created by Vector to help further educate kids about the importance of being safe around electricity, in a fun, engaging way.
The ‘behind the scenes’ competition is running on www.safetrex.co.nz and also includes a separate prize draw that gives kids and parents the chance to win tickets to the show. The website has a special game that encourages kids to dress Safe T. Rex in protective clothing so he can be safe from the dangers of electricity. It also includes classroom resources for teachers, fun activities for kids and a ‘draw your own dinosaur’ competition.
This promotion complements Vector’s “Stay safe around electricity” school programme which has educated thousands of primary school children about the dangers of electricity and how to avoid them.
As part of this initiative, Vector has also delivered classroom packs to over 450 primary and intermediate schools in the Auckland area. The learning pack includes a height chart comparing the height of an average 11 year old with featured dinosaurs and fun learning activities to help educate kids about dinosaurs.
“This is about extending our support to Auckland schools and building further awareness about the dangers of electricity amongst kids,” says Vector spokesperson, Sandy Hodge.
Walking with Dinosaurs will be showing at Vector Arena from 29 June until 10 July and has been seen by more than 6.5 million people worldwide.
The competitions close on 26 June. To enter the draw, visit www.safetrex.co.nz.
