An independent contractor has damaged Vector's gas network in Clark Street, New Lynn resulting in gas escaping from a Vector pipeline.

The fire brigade and police are in attendance and have cordoned off a large area of Clark Street and the surrounding New Lynn area.

All available Vector crews are working to isolate the damaged section of network to ensure the safety of those in the area. Customers' gas supply is not impacted at this time.
