Most gas users have a contract for the supply of natural gas to their premises with a gas retailer. This service can be broken down into its basic constituent components of purchase of wholesale gas, transmission services (equivalent to the national grid for gas), local distribution (Vector), and metering. The gas retailer will bundle these services and provide the gas user with a seamless one stop shop for supply.
