Earth Hour is a global call to action to individuals, businesses and communities throughout the world to stand up, to take responsibility, to get involved and lead the way towards a sustainable future.
Earth Hour 2012 took place on Saturday 31 March at 8.30pm (local time), and Auckland joined 4,000 plus cities participating world-wide. During Earth Hour, the power consumption was approx 807MWh. During the same time, the previous week (24-Mar), the power consumption was approx 817MWh.
The reduction in energy was about 10MWh, or 1.2%.
